Hawkeye uses his wits, arrows, and perseverance to defeat the Collector, and frees the 13 captive Avengers. The Collector ten explains how he had captured the Avengers in order to save them from an incredibly powerful being whom he calls "the enemy". The Collector has foreseen that this The Enemy will be the cause of a war which will destroy the universe. Just as the Collector is about to reveal the identity of The Enemy, The Enemy detects his presence and obliterates the collector, thousands of miles away, with a death ray. The enemy's (Michael, Korvac) girlfriend is revealed to be the daughter of the collector. She let Michael kill her father.
