Letters Column: Sock It To Shell-Head
Tony Stark has a problem remembering what he erased from his memory—the most destructive weapon ever created. With the help of Peter Parker, he finds out who is buying the supplies to build it. Flash-foward, the future is bleak for mankind, as WarMachine type personnel are hunting down rebels, guided by Mandarin who has become supreme master on a barren Earth. It is a family war, as good and evil fight for their own ends. Stark, and Spider-Man, fight in the past to cull a disastrous future, while the Starks of the future fight to end all.
Although this issue reverts to Iron Man's original numbering, it remains the same volume instead of reverting back to the original volume, as other recent renumberings have (Captain America, Thor, X-Factor, Wonder Woman, etc). This is because the original title was not called Invincible Iron Man, and since this title remains Invincible, and retains the same creative team, story line, and ISSN number, it is essentially the same volume, just with a new numbering.
Though the chapters are listed as separate stories to give the creators proper credit, the characters and groups are listed in the main issue because this issue tells one cohesive story.
The letters page has only one letter, an original fan letter from issue #1.
