Letters Column: TCR Mailboat

Synopsis:
Comics news and cover reproductions from all the major companies.

Full-color comic strips include JIM ENGEL's Dick Duck, Duck Dick, a special two-page edition featuring Chapter 1 of "Heroes and Villains." CHUCK FIALA provides episode 018 of Bullet Crow, Fowl of Fortune. JIM ENGEL and CHUCK FIALA also appear in their fumetti strip Fandom Confidential, this month titled "Ask Jim and Chuck."

The TCR Mailboat carries but one letter, from MARK MAGNANO (Santa Clara, CA), who recalls (with clarifications from Mike Tiefenbacher) an episode of Tom Snyder's "Tomorrow" show that had Stan Lee, Carmine Infantino, Julie Schwartz and dedicated Marvel fan Warren Storob as guests.

The Menomonee Falls Gazette reprints the following comic strips:
SUPERMAN by Siegel & Shuster: Eights daily strips from 1945 (no specific dates discernible).
THE SEEKERS by John Burns & Les Lilley: Strips Q253-Q0268
STAR HAWKS by Archie Goodwin & Gil Kane: Strips spanning May 16-27, 1979
PAUL TEMPLE in DEATH SITTING DOWN by Francis Durbridge & Mendoza: Strips 1-24.

Notes:
"OUR COVERS: The original JLA as portrayed by new DC inker DENNIS JENSEN, and Supergirl and Batgirl by TCR cover artist BOB STASZAK."

This issue is notable for containing the first published work by MIKE MIGNOLA, a spot illo of Red Sonja.
