Letters Column: TCR Mailboat

Synopsis:
Comics news from all the major companies, including up front the hotly anticipated release of DAZZLER #1 (accompanied by a huge repro of Bob Larkin's painted cover) and speculation on how Marvel will commemmorate the FANTASTIC FOUR's 20th anniversary in #236.

Comic strips include the full-page, full-color "Bullet Crow" #019 by CHUCK FIALA and opposite it "Dick Duck, Duck Dick" by JIM ENGEL (Chapter 2 of "Heroes and Villains"). ENGEL and FIALA also appear in their Fandom Confidential fumetti titled "Chuck's Amazing Impressions of People in the Comics Field."

This issue's Titanic of a TCR Mailboat boasts a bevy of letters and a surfeit of spot illos. The correspondents were LUIZ ANTONIO SAMPAIO (Brazil), IRA REMSEN HALL (Flushing, NY), BRIAN HAYES (Urbana, IL), BOB McLEOD (Tampa, FL), EDWARD McARDLE (Australia), HOWARD P. SIEGEL (Yonkers, NY, who provides a complete breakdown of CAPTAIN FLASH #1-4, a 1954-55 series)), DAVID ANTHONY KRAFT (Clayton, GA), ANDREW WATSON (Kalamazoo, MI), NELSON J. HO (SLC, UT), TERRY SCHULTZ (Hammond, IN), RONALD E. MILLER (Ft. Sheridan, IL), PHIL PARR (Grand Ledge, MI), ROBERT KENNEDY (KC, MO), NEIL ORTS (Paige, TX), DOYLE H. McGREGOR (Pinewood, MN), JAN GOLDBERG (University Heights, OH), JOHN PIERCE (Columbus, OH), JOHN W. PYRA (Westford, MA), JIM PATTISON (Toronto, ON), VAL ENKIA (SF, CA), BILL SCHULZ (Flagstaff, AZ), HEC RAMBLA (NYC, NY), FRANK HAYES (Dublin, Ireland), RICHARD ONETO (Staten Island, NY), GENE KEHOE (West Des Moines, IA), JOHN SCHWENGLER (Calgary, Alberta), GORDON BOCKUS (Wilburton, OK), and E. NELSON BRIDWELL (NYC, NY)

The Menomonee Falls Gazette features reprints of the following comic strips:
SUPERMAN by Siegel & Shuster: Eight daily strips from 1945 (specific dates not discernible)
THE SEEKERS by John Burns, Les Lilley & P. Douglas: Strips Q269-Q292
STAR HAWKS by Archie Goodwin & Gil Kane; Strips spanning May 28-June 14, 1979
PAUL TEMPLE by Francis Durbridge & Mendoza: Strips 25-48

Notes:
BOB STASZAK's front cover spoofs the Bo Derek film 10 by showing Cleopatra being judged an X (Roman 10) by Asterix, Obelix, Dogmatix, et al.
The back cover by MIKE MIGNOLA pictures a brooding Adam Warlock. (Mignola also provides four interior spot illustrations.)
