Randall Gordon is a skeptic, and starving psychology student. Unsure how to pay for his food, school, etc- decides to enter a contest- as a psychic. The story introduces Randall who comes in as no one to being the only one who can help- a role he disdains, as he hates belief in such things. It gets real when the Old Man arrives - cursing Randall with the gift. Can he use it to save those who come to him?
