Synopsis:
Lois's maternal instincts have kicked in after being shot, she thinks she and Clark would be good parents and that they should at least entertain the idea. But Clark isn't so sure. Enter Mr. Mxy to give them a baby. No, really. Mxy shows their lives with a child from birth to the time where Lara gets her powers and is inevitably attacked by some kind of supervillain. Mxy lets them know that this is a possible future and that the only way they'll get through the dark times ahead is with hope for the future.

Notes:
Several artistic styles are used in this issue, including that of Frank Miller (Sin City), Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes) and Bruce Timm (DC Animated Cartoons).The Mxy here is, given the sum of DC output at this time, more likely to be the original, Earth 2 version than the Earth 1/post-Crisis Mxy. When viewed historically, this whole issue reads more like an early prelude to Infinite Crisis, where several Earth 2 characters resurfaced. Certainly, Mxy here has a much closer visual similarity with the original Mxy than with the "modern" one.
