Synopsis:
This self-contained story opens with Parker watching anxiously as surgeons set to work on a young man critically wounded. Parker tells another doctor how that young man saved his and Mary Jane's lives from a runaway truck that then bathed the boy in a neuro-chemical toxin. He must be treated with an antidote in two hours or die a "quick and agonizing" death. Parker decides to ensure the ambulance delivering the antidote encounters no hold-ups and swings to the scene as Spidey, only to discover the ambulance crashed and the antidote stolen. Suspecting Dr. Octopus, Spidey is shocked to find Medusa behind the theft. The fight to regain the remedy takes Spidey and Medusa to Coney Island where they battle atop the roller coaster. When Medusa reunites with the Inhumans the pursuing Spidey is desperate enough to tackle them all, but cooler heads prevail after a brief scuffle and a satisfactory resolution is reached, just in the nick of time.
Notes:
This is a fill-in issue featuring a story probably intended for publication in MARVEL TEAM-UP, which Chris Claremont was scripting at the time. None of the regular supporting cast (besides a flashback cameo from MJ) appear and none of the developing subplots are mentioned. TRIVIA: This is the only issue of this series written by Chris Claremont.
