Spider-Woman saves an amnesiatic woman from jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. She is found to be Carol Danvers. She calls professor Xavier to help restore Carol's memory. They then find out that Carol Danvers is also Ms Marvel, who disappeared about 6 months ago. Meanwhile, Captain America is easily defeated by a woman named Rogue, who temporarily takes is powers & memories by touching him. She had permanently taken Ms Marvel's powers & memories by touching her for too long. Mystique attaches something to Iron Man's armor, which immobilizes it and kidnaps him. Thor shows up at Avenger Mansion and is attacked by Rogue. Spider-Woman shows up. Rogue is able to take Thor's powers, but is unable to touch Spider-Woman. Wonder Man, Hawkeye, and Vision show up. Rogue is unable to absorb the powers of Vision or Wonder Man. The odds now against her, Rogue then departs. Spider-Woman then explains Carol Danvers' situation. Meanwhile, Mystique and Rogue break the other Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (Blob, Destiny, Avalanche, Pyro) out of prison, aided by the immobilized Iron Man. Just as the Brotherhood are about to depart the prison, the Avengers and Spider-Woman, show up. A long, exciting battle ensues. The Avengers are eventually victorious. Back at Xavier's School for the Gifted, the Avengers visit Carol. She is very bitter towards them, for the events which took place in Avengers #200. She feels that the Avengers betrayed her. She explains that Marcus used his powers to make her agree to stay with him. She also says that he made a miscalculation, and that he aged very rapidly after returning to limbo, and dies within weeks . She was able to figure out how to transport herself home, and she avoided the Avengers when she got back, due to her bitterness towards them.
