Synopsis: Mitchell Dover is racking his brain for a name for the new extra-large size can of Binkerhoff's Beans (the small is called Jumbo and the large is called Mammoth) after being chewed out by his boss, Mr. Gerber. Mitchell's son, Stanley, a lonely boy with a 149 IQ, a big imagination, and a lisp, finds some older boys playing baseball and is told to scram. When their ball falls into a manhole, Stanley goes to retrieve it in the hopes they will let him play. There he finds a gigantic monster who is hiding from men, who have tried to kill him for centuries. Stanley thinks he is a dog, and the monster thinks Stanley is confused by the poor lighting. Nevertheless, Stanley invites him home, even though he is not allowed to have a dog. From Stanley's description of him, Mitch gets an idea for the can and offers Stanley anything he wants, which is a bizarre request for certain odd meats for the Monster.
