Close Before Striking

Letters Column: Bat Signals

Matches Malone turned out to be a real criminal thought to be dead by Batman, so he took his I.D. for undercover work. Matches didn't actually die, but skipped town. He returned when he heard Scarface was after him and he wanted to confront him. Scarface shot him, and Matches made a promise to Batman to avenge him, which Batman agreed to. Now Nightwing is concerned about Batman's well being.
