Synopsis: While trying to help a young woman trace her long-lost brother, Bruce Wayne uncovers evidence of highly dubious human experimentation at Wayne Technologies. Those involved offer to cut him in on the deal, and when he refuses, they manage to have him arrested as a communist spy.
The evidence against Bruce Wayne mounts up (the men he saw while training to be Batman taken as evidence that he is a communist spy), while those responsible for the experimentation a WayneTech arrange for Henri Ducard - former Interpol agent - to testify against him. Things go from bad to worse when Wayne and his attorneys are shot, leaving the lawyers dead and Wayne in critical condition.
Following his injuries, Bruce Wayne is forced to use the body-transfer technology he appropriated from his enemies (the illicit WayneTech researchers) to take over Roy Kane's body in order to pretend Batman is still on the streets. Meanwhile, Henri Ducard guesses Wayne's secret as the various factions of his enemies begin to tear their own operation apart. Roy is killed in the struggle, as are the leaders of the cartel, one of them assassinated by Ducard, but not before their plot is exposed and Bruce Wayne cleared of charges of espionage.
