With Wally West out of commission, Jay Garrick promises to help defend the city in Wally's stead. Jay visits with his enemy-turned-friend the Thinker, who is dying of cancer. Realizing that the Thinker could save himself if he only had his thinking cap, Jay races against time from JSA'er to JSA'er in order to track down the missing cap. But when all is said and done, does the Thinker want to be saved?
