Batman lies badly injured in Crime Alley following a fall when someone cut his batrope. The only one of Oracle's contacts in the area is Huntress, who beats off a gang of people determined to kill the hero and gets him into the Batmobile, which Oracle is operating via remote control. He is just about a ble to get out the message that his childhood friend, Tommy Elliot, now a renowned surgeon, should be brought in to help him, and before long, the doctor is convinced that Bruce Wayne is out of the woods.
