Ra's al Ghul is about to put into place his latest plan to pare down the human race to a manageable number. But, first, he must neutralize Batman and the rest of the League. Batman was easy, all he had to do was steal the coffin's of Bruce Wayne's parents. Al Ghul then takes down the rest of the League with specialized attacks.
