Synopsis:
Teenagers on a joyride are interrupted by the Public Eye in hot pursuit of Spider-Man 2099! Spidey escapes and makes it home. Lyla, his holographic home attendant notes that he has been behaving unusually and has not posted a journal entry in 5 days. Cue Flashback: Miguel O'Hara is a hotshot young scientist working for Alchemax. Inspired by the powers of Spider-Man, he is the lead on their 'corporate raider' program to design super-agents. Forced into fatal testing on human subjects by his unscrupulous boss Tyler Stone, Miguel quits. While accepting his resignation, Stone slips the hyper-addictive drug Rapture into his drink. Now Miguel must stay with Alchemax or die from withdrawal. Later that night, Miguel sneaks into his lab to reset his genetic code, freeing him of the addiction. Unbeknownst to Miguel, his resentful supervisor Aaron is also at the lab. He tampers with the machinery, raising all power levels and throwing in the spider genome for good measure, resulting in critical overload. Not only does Miguel survive, he is transformed into.....Spider-Man 2099!
