When Warlock is approached by a girl fleeing from the Universal Church of Truth, he places her under his protection. Unfortunately, the girl is slain by her pursuers. After Warlock deals with the pursuers, he uses the soul gem to animate the girl's body to learn of the Universal Church of Truth. Led by a being of immense power known as the Magus, the Church seeks to conquer the universe. But when Warlock is confronted by the Magus himself, he learns a shocking truth... the Magus is a future version of himself!
