Synopsis:
A French Consulate requests that Negative Man be dispatched to arrest Nazi war criminal Hans Horst because diplomatic relations between the countries do not allow French authorities to do so. Horst is in league with the Brotherhood of Evil, and using a cardboard mockup in a funeral procession, they trap Negative Man in a coffin lined with lead, the one thing Negative Man cannot penetrate.
The Chief puts Larry in the biofreeze device first seen in Challengers #42 and brings in the Flash to pretend to be Negative Man (wearing a black suit) in order to confuse the Brotherhood. the Brotherhood, taking no chances, launches the coffin on a rocket, so it's up to the Flash and the Doom Patrol to stop it as the Brotherhood, at Garguax's suggestion, holds the chief hostage.
Notes:
This issue is set between issues 102 (the second part of the Challengers of the Unknown crossover) and 103 of The Doom Patrol, and before issue #161 of The Flash. For whatever reason, it is omitted from its rightful place in The Doom Patrol Archives vol. 3, as well as Showcase Presents The Doom Patrol vol. 2.
