It was originally to be a mature readers line, but then became code-approved at the last minute thanks to Marvel's then-parent company, causing the withdrawal of a proposed Satana comic. Only Man-Thing #1 actually bears a Comics Code Authority seal, and it is smaller than was usual at the time.
