Another request: Collection Reports

Postby Chris » Wed May 24, 2006 4:47 am

As you may have noticed, I've started putting in reports for collections, the first being a breakdown by publisher of the issues in your collection.

Now I need suggestions for other reports that you'd like to see.

Ideas?

How about breakdown by type of issue (i.e. standard/TPB/OGN/Manga)?

Other Reports

Postby jimcripps » Thu May 25, 2006 4:01 am

That could be endless:

One-shots/limited/series
Issues that need number of pages (or the like)
By writer? and such
Issue condition
Issue rank
Issue collected by other members
[Date purchased, which is not in the DB]
B-W/Color...
Maybe, issues by cover price, in groups of say 0-.50, .51-1.00, ...
or, issues by years printed, maybe even GA and SA, and Modern(?)

This could indeed go on.

Yep, that's the one I would want to see and would be the most handy.

A version 0.1 of the missing issues report is now available from the Reports section of your collection.

Chris,

Would it be possible to add a "Missing Issues by Creator" function, for those of us looking for creator checklists?

Definitely a great start.

Some features I would like to see in regards to this report is to view one or more specific titles that I define instead of everything. Also to be able to define a range - either with issue numbers I input, or beginning with the earlier issue of that title I own, for instance - would be great too.

Perhaps when first entering that report area, you could be presented with a grid/chart thing that lists all the titles you have missing issues of, how many issues of each title you're missing, a checkbox to include that title in the report, and an additional box to enter a beginning issue number or select from pre-defined options (such as "FROM: earliest issue I have - TO most recent issue", issues between date ranges, only by certain creators (or exclude certain creators). Maybe also have a checkbox to include annuals, variants, etc, or exclude them from the report.

I realize that's a lot of work, and it could get quite complex, but it could also be one of the most important features of the site!

I totally agree with all these suggestions, and I just submitted a feature request yesterday to that effect (before seeing this post, unfortunately).

A really useful "missing issues" report would be a killer feature for me.

I think those two reports could be added:

-Report all unread issues

-Report doubles (single issue which are in the user's collection more than one-time; this could be very useful at the moment considering the bug discuss here)

This is already there: just click "View a list of issues in your collection in the Marketplace" in "My Collection".

thx. i was hoping to be able to make that report viewable by others off-site. Or to be able to add that feature to a csv export
