Default "Read" Status

Postby dfjkl » Mon Feb 29, 2016 7:30 am

Can the default Read status be changed to "Unread?" When adding books, esp. if buying on a monthly basis, and due to the issues in the last post of mine, also needing to change the read status to Unread for each issue is one more step that makes adding a number of issues difficult.

If not, maybe some other methods of dealing with the flag.

Making it a radio button?

Maybe a link while adding it (maybe "add read" or "add unread")?

Also, when bringing up the "Issue in your collection," having to edit the record to change the read status is a little cumbersome. If changing it to a radio button in that window with another button to change would be handy. If not, maybe another please to where we can just click a link to make it read/unread (or the opposite of it's current status).

I have plans to let you set the default values for many of those fields but haven't had a chance to make those changes yet.

We can't change the default value because while it would be better to be 'Unread' for those adding books on a monthly basis, it is more helpful for it to be 'Read' for people who are adding their collection. The point being that it would be better if each user could set it based on their preference.
