2010-07-13 17:14:06 Hoobson Bio After getting an engineering degree in 1984, I realised I didn’t want to be an engineer! I started doing drawings and strips for fanzines such as Killing Stroke and Harrier’s Avalon, before getting my first Future Shock in 2000AD in 1988. A couple more Future Shocks were followed by 2 series of Medivac 318, written by Hilary Robinson, Trash by Paul Kupperberg, Strontium Dogs – Return of the Gronk and The Darkest Star by Garth Ennis, Red Razors by Mark Millar and some more Strontium Dogs by Pete Hogan. My last work for 2000AD (to date?) was a Vector 13 story in Prog 958. During this period, I also did 3 issues of Judge Dredd, Legends of the Law and an issue of The Demon for DC, Hilary Robinson’s Melissande for Mindbenders and a lot of wildlife illustrations. A period of commercial work for clients such as Eagle Star and Polydor Records followed, before I started working for Fleetway’s Sonic the Comic, mainly on Knuckles, with Nigel Kitching. I also worked on Tails, Sonic and Amy, as well as colouring artists such as Roberto Corona and Richard Elson. After a brief stint writing and drawing the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles for the BBC’s FBX magazine I started work on Dark Horse’s Digimon comic, doing covers and line art. Sadly, the comic was short lived, although I later produced a number of comics for Panini's UK Digimon. I now work for a large number of different clients doing illustration, design and licensed character work.My most recent comic strip work has been Magpie (still looking for a home) with Nigel Kitching, a strip for the Games Workshop’s Inferno, a number of Power Rangers strips for Panini’s Fox Kids Wickid magazine, colouring Roberto Corona and John Gillatt on Manuwahi and Scorer respectively and Billy the Cat for the Beano. I have also recently produced illustrations for My Little Pony, Mr. Bean's Amazing A-Z and Angelina's Fairy Tales. I am currently working on Scooby Doo for DeAgostini and will be doing more Billy the Cat soon. After getting an engineering degree in 1984, I realised I didn want to be an engineer!
