Internationally known fantasy illustrator and graphic novelist Mike Dubisch has his roots in golden age horror comics and pulp Science Fiction. His art has been used in toy design and illustration for Star Wars and Dungeons and Dragons role playing games, covers for Aliens VS Predator, and graphic adaptations of The Boxcar Children and other children's literature.
Dubisch was a student of the legendary cartoonists Will Eisner and Walter Simonson, and has worked for DC, MARVEL, Image and Dark Horse comics.
Dubisch’s illustrations have appeared in the magazines Weird Tales, Science Fiction Age, and the H. P. Lovecraft Magazine of Horror, as well as the animated film Howard Lovecraft and the Undersea Kingdom and many independent productions.
Called “one of the grand old men of horror comics” by comic art historian and journalist Stephen R. Bissette, Mike has been publishing art and stories in horror comic anthologies since his teens in the 1980’s, to the present day. Currently, his work in this genre can be seen in the internationally distributed “The Creeps” magazine.
Dubisch holds the position of full time faculty at the illustration undergraduate program at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. Mike lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife, Carolyn, and three daughters.
