Bio: Gary Gianni was born and lives in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from The Chicago Academy Of Fine Art in 1976. From there, he worked for the Chicago Tribune as an illustrator and Network Television News as a courtroom sketch artist. He has worked in numerous magazines, children's books, graphic novels and paperbacks. His work debuted in 1990 with his adaptions of "The Tales of O. Henry" and "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" for Classics Illustrated. Gary is influences by the masters of the Golden Age of illustrating, such as Joseph Clement Coll and Franklin Booth. Gianni spent a year and a half illustrating Robert E. Howards's "The Savage Tales of Solomon Kane", which compromised of 200 pen drawings and seven oil paintings. Among his other adaptions of classic pulp characters (The Shadow, Batman, Conan, Tarzan, Doc Sacage, Bran Mak Morn, Indiana Jones), Gianni also created his own original series, "The MonsterMen", a pulp-horror comic that first appeared as a backup to Mike Mignola's Hellboy stories. It was later renamed "Corpus Monstrum" and the first story was collected in "Corpus Monstrum, vol. 1".It was again changed back to "MonsterMen" for another one-shot. Gary is currently illustrating the "Prince Valiant" strips.
