2008-03-04 14:29:55 misterpace Powers Magical control over sky phenomena Nut possesses the conventional attributes of the Egyptian Gods including superhuman strength (Class 25), longevity and resistance to injury. As a Sky-Goddess,she may have the ability to manipulate and command certain sky phenomenon such as wind and rain.
2008-03-04 14:29:55 misterpace Bio Nut is the daughter of Shu, the god of air, and, Tefnut, the rain-goddess. In one account, she was seduced by her uncle Ammon-Ra and gave birth to Hathor, goddess of love and music, Khnum, the god of the Nile and Hapi I, the god of floods. Her brother, Geb, soon succeeded their father as Pharaoh of Egypt and he took her as his wife and queen against the wishes of Atum-Ra who forbid them to have children. He ordered their father, Shu, to separate them and cast a spell that prevented her from giving birth on any day of the week. Their brother, Thoth, however, saw how miserable they were and took pity on them and challenged Selkhet, the moon-goddess, to a game. Winning the game, Thoth was able to take enough of her power to create five new days which he gave to Geb and Nut to share together. For each of these days, Nut gave birth to one child: Horus I, Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys. Eventually, Atum-Ra became disenchanted with mortals and decided to distance himself from them by ascending into heaven. Impressed by Nutís ability to deceive him, he enlisted her help to enter into heaven, but she became so dizzy from the ascent that she had to return to Earth. Osiris eventually replaced Geb as ruler of Egypt over Seth. Seth grew to hate his brother and eventually imprisoned the Egyptian Gods in a pyramid so that he could conquer the heavens and the underworld. The pyramid soon appeared in Earth in the Twentieth century where they were freed by the Asgardian Gods Odin and Thor. After Odin slew Seth, Nut and the Egyptian Gods participated in the ceremony of rebirth that made Odin the reincarnation of Atum-Ra. Seth stole the life forces of Nut and the other Egyptian gods as part of his vendetta on Thor and Odin to invade Asgard. Thor, however, broke his control over the energies and restored the Heliopian gods to normalcy.
