Baron Karza

Contribution History:
Date User Field Old Value New Value
2007-10-05 16:33:43 misterpace Powers Baron Karza was initially a normal human from the Microverse. He was a cunning master strategist with tremendous long-term vision and an escape plan for defeat, including physical resurrection. He was able to influence others by appealing to their base and negative aspects, but was quite prepared to rescind any alliance to further his own ends. He was egotistical, arrogant and ruthless, and craved power and knowledge, as well as the acquisition of new and alien technologies that could augment his own powers. He was aware of his malignant behavior and increasingly embraced his evil nature, becoming power mad and genocidal in his quest for domination over life. He had the ability to transfer his mind into a formidable suit of armor, effectively becoming something akin to a cyborg through the merging of man and machine. Ultimately, it was only his mental energy that remained, which required a host body in order to function in the physical world. Each 'resurrection' left him more malevolent with no conscience about the murder and mutilation of entire races. He had advanced knowledge of mutating people, subverting their will until they became his servants, with some being unrecognizable in their new form; he sacrificed millions to his bloody Body Banks that harvested limbs and bodies to extend people's lives (for a price) or create new minions. He briefly wielded the incredible Uni-power (which temporarily transformed his ebon armor to white), but he rejected the neutrality it came with in favor of his greedy human emotional desire for conquest; this left him mortal and totally reliant on his armor. He was an excellent hand-to-hand combatant, but relied on his armor for attack and defense, and displayed incredible will power and psi-powers.Karza's chest cannons His black armor was derived from alien races in the Microverse and included an extremely powerful force field that he could mentally activate instantly; this covered all his armor's capabilities. He had four cannons mounted across his chest that could atomize humans (but send Microverse natives on Earth back to the Microverse). His large red buckle mounted on his mid riff could fire similarly destructive blasts, as could his gloves. His eyes fired red fiercely concussive beams, as well as nervous shock blasts, although he could also extract knowledge from other people's minds. His gauntlets could be fired and controlled mentally (short range) which he used to pummel others or strangle victims to death. Notably, he was able to transform into a fast and powerful centaur form with engines/blasters mounted on his flanks, plus a metallic spiked tail. Karza had a personal teleportation facility, which was likely short-range. He had also used a power saber. As a resident of the Microverse, when traveling to Earth under conventional means, he would only be about 6" tall. He could maintain his normal size when traveling under special means, such as through the Prometheus Pit.
2007-10-05 16:33:43 misterpace Bio He was once Homeworld's Chief Scientist Before becoming the Microverse's Iron-Fisted dictator. Homeworld's former chief scientist was a genius in biological engineering. He bribed Homeworld's citizens with the promise of eternal life via his Body Banks. Not everyone was unhappy with Karza's new reign in the beginning, but Karza's de facto rule of Homeworld is enforced by his Dog Soldiers and bioengineered creatures. Many former Karza supporters eventually lent their aid to the rebellion against him. In his own communion with the Time Travellers, Baron Karza realized that what he sought was more than mere power. Though his science had effectively made him immortal, his essence and emotions were still that of a man. Although Karza transcended his organic body and became a being of pure energy, Karza refused the Time Travellers' offer of godhood. Karza re-evaluated his philosophy and concluded that true godhood cannot be obtained without understanding what one needs to experience in order for one's soul (as opposed to one's mere body) to transcend physicality. Thus, Karza, in committing one unspeakably inhuman act after another, believes he will become indifferent to the concept of wielding power over the living. Thus, he accepted the choice to return to a mortal body so that he could relish conquest. NOTE: Although the late-70s timing of the original Baron Karza toy figure appeared as something of a Darth Vader knockoff, it was based on the mold of the anime super robot, Steel Jeeg (not part of the original Microman toy line, but the toys for the show were manufactured by Takara, which made the Microman toys).
