The Contessa and Lex Luthor first met over two decades ago, each impressed with the other's business savvy. When Luthor was in hiding, the Contessa bought controlling interest in LexCorp International and named herself CEO, returning the company to prominence. Uopn Luthor's return, the two rekindled their relationship and were married. Soon the Contessa became pregnant. Immediately following Lena Luthor's birth, Luthor held the Contessa prisoner at a private medical facility. Ever resurceful, the COntessa escaped and has been taunting Luthor ever since. Lena Luthor may not be the Contessa's only child - she may have other children scattered all over the world, each gifted with their mother's ruthlessness and mysterious gifts.
