Jason first appeared in a small cameo at the end of the film "Friday the 13th" (1980) and made his first full appearance in "Friday the 13 Part 2"(1981). He has since appeared in 6 sequels along with a pairing with fellow horror icon Freddy Kruger in 2003's "Freddy vs. Jason".
Jason's first entry into the world of comic books was a three issue adaptation of "Jason Goes to Hell" by Topps Comics.
Starting in 2005, Jason appeared in a series of Friday the 13th Mini-series by Avatar Press. In 2007 the rights to the character were transfered to Wildstorm, who are currently releasing comics of the "Friday the 13th licence.
