The Elfqueen is a sorceress and as such, is in control of various magical abilities. These include projection of energy bolts, levitation, telekinesis and animation of inatimate objects. In addition, she also possesses superhuman strength and durability.
Linnea and her lover, Gorn The Barbarian, lived for 10,000 years in a tiny thatch-roofed cottage in a secluded glade in Virginia, enchanted by her powers to be undectable by the outside morning. Gorn, having grown tired of living in the secluded glade, decided to venture out into the world that had long forgotten them. Having been threatened by Gorn that he would leave her, Linnea reluctantly agreed to travel with him. They soon found themselves in the city where nothing was familiar anymore, including the language. One mishap after another befell them, and in anger, Gorn hit Linnea and she disappeared in grief. Soon Gorn found himself in yet another confrontation, this one leading to his death. Linnea reappeared, enraged with grief and began to attack the city. The Avengers soon arrived and interviened, but because of the language barrier, they were unable to understand each other and a battle ensued. Captain America was finally able to sooth Linnea, but as this happened, Yellowjacket (Hank Pym) who had been out of the fight due to a mechanical malfunction in his suit, not realizing she had stopped fighting, blasted her with his energy projections from behind. Captain America was once again able to calm her, and they followed her to the body of Gorn, finally realizing what had happened. Linnea once again floated off and disappeared. It was the attack on The Elfqueen from behind that led to Hank Pym's court martial and the beginning of his darkest days, including the infamous spousal abuse of The Wasp.
