Originally the only power that Carina possessed was having an incredibly long lifespan due to being the daughter of The Collector, an Elder of The Universe. At one point, Carina was imbued with the power cosmic by Korvac which gave her similar abilities to his. At this point, she possessed almost unlimited power.

The daughter of The Collector, an Elder of The Universe, Carina was incredibly old and her origin besides this fact is unknown. Her father, The Collector sent her to spy on Korvac, giving her a human form that would appeal to Korvac. As she was about to betray Korvac in the name of her father, she stopped. At this point, she had fallen in love with him. She soon revealed to Korvac her original intent and watched as he killed her father from afar. They soon made love and at this point, Korvac imbued Carina with her own power cosmic. The Avengers shortly there-after came looking for Korvac, and a bloody battle ensued where Korvac slaughtered both The Avengers and The Guardians of the Galaxy, leaving few alive. Near the end of the bloody battle, Korvac turned to Carina for support, and seeing the hesitation in her eyes due to the horrible battle, lost his will to live and killed himself. Carina, realizing what happened, went mad with rage and attacked the remaining heroes. Using her own power cosmic, she forced Thor's hammer to strike her with it's power. As she was being hit, she stopped using her power cosmic, causing the energy from Thor's hammer to kill her. As she died, she reached out for Korvac's hand, wanting to be with her love for all eternity, she never grasped it. It was later revealed the Korvac did in fact not die on that day, and it was him who actually powered down Carina after seeing the doubt in her eyes.

Carina used the last name "Walters" when disguised as a human in order to get close to Korvac.
