Rutherford Winner

Search for 'Rutherford Winner' on Amazon

Bio:
Winner was a Hydra agent built in the Pygmalion Project. A random person kidnapped and broken down into pieces only to be built back up in the exact manner Hydra wanted them. Chemical excision of the conscience. Psyche erosion. Synthetic personality grafting. Implanted memories. All tools used on Winner to create an extremely dangerous and deadly agent.

Winner was eventually caught by S.H.I.E.L.D., but instead of fixing him, they decided he was too useful a tool and kept him the way he was, sending him into Carnelia's House of Parliament where 129 people died as a result.

Years later, Winner was contracted by an unknown source to kidnap and deliver Colleen Wing and Misty Knight. The Daughters of the Dragon had taken down Bunraku, which angered Winner's contractor. Winner had his own plan. Deliver Colleen and Misty and his contractor would deliver to him the activation codes for the Mordillo device (a man Winner considered brilliant) which had the capabilities of wiping a city of the face of the Earth. He had no plans to use it, but wanted Colleen and Misty to believe he was going to so that one of them would kill him and put him out of his misery. In addition. Nick Fury, Jr., knowing that Winner was used by his father and S.H.I.E.L.D. was on a mission to take Winner out as well, all in an effort to help clean up S.H.I.E.L.D.'s past so that it could be restarted after it's collapse.

Colleen and Misty were able to figure out Winner's plan just in time and instead of killing him, sought out help for him.

According to him, the conditioning he received as part of the Pygmalion Project was never meant to last as long as it had and his mind was being destroyed. So it's currently unknown if anyone or anything can help make Winner whole again after everything he's been through.
