Real Name: Various

Can send any other being into Limbo, and take their form, thereby gaining any special abilities possessed by the victim.

If attempting to replace a suitably powerful being, the Phantom can itself wind up in Limbo.

Originally thought to be a single individual, it turns out there are a number of Space Phantoms. They are formed by Immortus from persons who become lost in Limbo, and serve him in many of his schemes.

While the original Space Phantom from Avengers (1963) #2 is indeed an alien from a planet known as Phantus, there is no race of "Space Phantoms" in general. Each is simply some living thing caught in Limbo by Immortus, and they come from a variety of places and species.

First Appearance: The Avengers (1963) #2
