Hauptmann Englande
Real Name: Brian Braddock
Search for 'Hauptmann Englande' on Amazon

Bio:
His name, translated from the German, means Captain England (possibly a reference to fellow superhero Captain England). Hauptmann Englande is a representative on an alternate Earth called Earth-597 for the Captain Britain Corps. Earth-597 is an alternate Earth where the Nazis have won the Second World War, and Hauptmann Englande is the leader of the Lightning Squad, his world's equivalent of Excalibur. He and his compatriots first appeared in an attempt to retrieve their reality's counterparts of Moira MacTaggert and her bodyguard Callisto, who had switched realities with their Earth-616 equivalents. Their "forceful" method of doing so brought them into conflict with Excalibur, and Lightning Squad's defeat at their hands led to an uneasy truce and exchange agreement, with all individuals being returned to their native realities in the end.

The Hauptmann's personality is almost stereotypically Nazi-esque--stern, militaristic and unfailingly loyal to his homeworld's regime. He bears a grudge against his Earth-616 counterpart for his defeat in their initial encounter, and willingly served as prosecutor when that Captain Britain was put on trial for infractions against the code of the Corps.

When the Captain Britain Corps were decimated by the villainous Mastermind, posing as Roma, Hauptmann Englande was one of many who were killed.
