William 'Sparkplug' Irving Witwicky

Search for 'William 'Sparkplug' Irving Witwicky' on Amazon

Powers:
Skilled mechanic

Weaknesses:
Occasionally suffers from war flashbacks and flashbacks to his abduction by the Decepticons.

Bio:
A Korean war veteran, William Irving "Sparkplug" Witwicky was the mechanic Bumblebee found to reconfigure the Autobots fuel lines to handle specially modified Blackrock gasoline mixed with Energon components.

He was kidnapped by Starscream and forced by Megatron to make the same conversion for the Decepticons. Although he was rescued by Spider-Man, he suffered a mild heart attack.

When Ratchet took Sparkplug to the hospital, he was the only Autobot from the Ark spared the wrath of Shockwave. In spite of this, Sparkplug was still upset with all Cybertronians and forbade his son, Buster, from associating with them.

Later, Sparkplug's older son, Spike, returned from college grafted to Fortress Maximus, which Sparkplug considered an inhuman outrage.

Notes:
In the animated series, Sparkplug remained allied with the Autobots, while in the Marvel Comics, he did not want anything to do with them.
