*The following contains mild spoilers for the "Red Panda Adventures" audio drama series and the "Tales of the Red Panda" novel series.*
Katya "Kit" Baxter grew up in a poor Toronto neighborhood. Her late father was a taxi driver who was also well-versed in the pugilistic arts, which he passed on to his daughter.
While working as a taxi driver herself, Kit picked up wealthy playboy August Fenwick, who sent her on a high speed chase to catch up with his "friends." He was so impressed with her driving skills that he offered her a job as his chauffer.
While working as his driver, Kit figured out that Fenwick was really the city's masked crime fighter, the Red Panda. After she saved him from a death-trap she was able to convince him to train her, and she became his sidekick, the Flying Squirrel.
Although she made her comics debut in 2013, the Flying Squirrel first appeared in "Riddle of the Sphinx," the first episode of the "Red Panda Adventures" podcast audio drama series on October 15, 2005. She has also appeared in a series of "Tales of the Red Panda" novels.
