Spirit of America
Real Name:
Search for 'Spirit of America' on Amazon

Bio:
An entity created by the American Talisman on July 5th, 1776.
The Spirit of America bonds with a dying patriot in order to create an entity to defend the United States. This led to the creation of the Minuteman (01) during the Revolutionary War, Brother Jonathan During the War of 1812, Billy Yank and Johnny Reb during the Civil War, Uncle Sam (01) in 1870, Uncle Sam (02) during World War I and Uncle Sam (03) during World War II. It is presumed Uncle Sam (03) was the same man active through the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

During the 1990s, it was revealed the American Talisman, and thus the American Spirit, was fractured into several pieces. This led to several people gaining a fragment and becoming entities to reflect their own conflicting views of America. With the aid of the Spectre, several people joined together with the Spirit to become the Patriot. Shortly after Our Worlds at War, the Patriot became Uncle Sam (04).
