Reintegrating his disintegrated atoms, burning away his clothes, flying at speeds of over 20,000 miles per hour, surviving the vacuum of space, super sensitivity to heat, invisibility, atomic blasts from his hands, indestructibility, fiery rays from his hands, surviving without needing to eat, really good eyesight, can fly faster than the speed of light, can hear sounds in the vacuum of space, ability to increase the level of radiation he emits to generate warmth, belt radio (not really a power but a gadget) with which he can communicate with Washington, can erect a shield that blocks beams of emotions projected at him (quite a specific power), can fling fiery balls from his hands, can switch from his liquid metal costume and back again, uses any electrical based machinery to recharge his powers, and the ability to bend light rays.
Captain Allen Adam was an Air Force career man who knew more about rocketry, missiles, and the universe than any man alive. He was a specialist of the missile age, a trained, dedicated soldier who was a physics prodigy at eight, a chemist, and a ballistics genius. In short, Captain Adam was an invaluable space-age soldier even before that memorable day at Cape Canaveral, Florida, when an Atlas missile was being readied for blast-off with an atomic warhead inside and Captain Adam making the final last-second adjustments. Trapped onboard the rocket, Allen Adam was killed when the warhead detonated in Earth's upper atmosphere. However, his consciousness somehow survived the blast and rebuilt his body. Upon returning to Earth, he found himself gifted with amazing powers. He became Captain Atom, super-spy and super-hero.
