Ebrok was a magician and the creator of the Cat People.

Ebok, at first, created two Cat People. Flavius and Helene. After letting three fellow sorcerers see the two Cat People, they became envious of him, and Ebrok created more Cat People so that the sorcerers could have servants.

Through breeding, the Cat People quickly grew in number, and finally revolted against their masters. The four sorcerers banished them to another dimension, a spot in a hell dimension they came to call The Land Within.

Flavious and Helene however, evaded banishment, and stayed with Ebrok as he grew older and came near the end of his life. One of the sorcerers discovered Flavious and Helene still with Ebrok, declared him a traitor and fired a bolt of mystical energy at him. Flavious threw a bacteria at the other sorcerer (Orann was his name) that himself and Helene had created through expirement. Orann ran from the room and ended up spreading the bacteria in what would become known as The Black Plague. Ebrok then died with his two friends by his side.

Ebrok's first full appearance was in What If #35 (1982), however, in Fear #22 (1974) his hands were shown. Since he didn't distinctly appear until What If #35, that's what's listed as his first appearance.

First Appearance: What If? (1977) #35
