Grasshopper (Marvel)(01 - Doug Taggert)
Real Name: Doug Taggert
Search for 'Grasshopper (Marvel)(01 - Doug Taggert)' on Amazon

Powers:
None. Taggert relied solely on his suit of armor. With his suit, he was able to leap incredible bounds with the lengthly robotic hind legs, or use them as devices to deliver powerful kicks to his adversaries.

Bio:
Grasshopper was employed as part time security for Roxxon Oil (presumably where he obtained the suit he wore). One night on his way home from work, Taggert spotted Batroc's Brigade robbing a warehouse. He tried to stop them and a battle ensued. He was quickly joined by the members of the Great Lakes Avengers. Duing the course of the battle, Grasshopper was invited to join the GLA and quickly accepted. Almost immediately after accepting the invitation, Grasshopper was killed by a sai thrown by the super-villain Zaran as it passed through the head of his fellow teammate Doorman into his own head. (Monkey-Joe, the narrator of the story commented off panel: "five point eight seconds. A new record for shortest membership on ANY team.")

Grasshopper was briefly seen in a limbo-like afterlife hanging with the other members of the GLA that are deceased.

Notes:
Grasshoper's first apperance is technically in the Great Lakes Avengers #1 (2005) but it was in a comedic breaking of the fourth wall out of continuity. His first in continuity apperance is in Great Lakes Avengers #2 (2005).

First Appearance: G.L.A. (2005) #1
