Powers: El Aguila possesses the ability to discharge electrostatic charges generated by his own body through a conductive medium. His body discharges a maximum of 100,000 volts at one time, sufficient to kill a man or to stun a rhinoceros at ten feet. He can mentally control the intensity of the blast, keeping it well within the non-lethal range. After fully depleting his store of bioelectricity, be it in one blast or successive blasts, it takes him one half hour to recharge back to full strength. When his power reaches its full charge, his body will naturally discharge any excess energy in minute, harmless quantities. HIs body generates and stores this bioelectricity in his central nervous system. The maximum range at which his blast can propagate through air at sea level is 30 feet.
Bio: Little is as yet known about the life of Alejandro Montoya, the costumed swashbuckler called El Aguila. Born in Spain, Montoya is a mutant whose superhuman power manifested itself while he was a teenager. It is not known when or where Montoya undertook the art of fencing or if he adopted the identity of El Aguila before coming to America or after. Once in America, El Aguila began to prety upon criminals, particularly drug dealers, slumlords, and those whose criminal activities most affected the poor. It is probably that the money he confiscated from these criminals was redistributed to the poor. Since his activities have been outside the law, El Aguila has been wanted by the police and has found himself in conflict with Power Man and Iron Fist on sevearl occasions.
Recently during a mission the Avengers viewed a screen of de-powered mutants. El Aguila was on that screen with other mutants de-powered after the House of M event. Whether he is truly de-powered or not is yet to be seen. His current whereabouts are unknown.
