Dr. Hans Feldstadt

In his mutated gamma irradiated state, Feldstadt was incredibly strong and durable, enough so to take on the Hulk (although the Hulk was able to defeat him once he got angry enough).

Dr. Hans Feldstadt was a Swiss scientist who earned the Nobel Prize for his work in biological radiation decontamination. Seeking privacy, Feldstadt left Zurich and leased an abandoned estate in the village Jungfrau, under the name of Dr. Klein, where he sought to use gamma radiation to cure disease.

Bruce Banner tracked him down, hoping that Feldstadt might cure him from becoming the Hulk. Feldstadt initially rebuffed Banner, but upon learning he was the Hulk – after the Hulk rampaged through Jungfrau – he welcomed his assistance. Banner quickly learned that Feldstadt had little interest in curing him but only in harnessing gamma radiation for his own purposes. Irate villagers mistakenly assumed that the monster who had attacked their village came from Feldstadt’s research, and they assaulted his estate with flaming torches. Multiple chemical explosions ensued, damaging Feldstadt’s gamma projector and mutating Feldstadt into a savage, monstrous form. The Hulk subdued Feldstadt and sealed the leaking projector, but Feldstadt’s laboratory and notes were destroyed, and Feldstadt was reported dead from a lab accident.
