Col. Wilhelm Klink

Search for 'Col. Wilhelm Klink' on Amazon

Bio:
Klink is the commandant of the POW camp at which "Hogan's Heroes" are imprisoned. He seems to be interested in Nazism only to the degree that doing so will positively affect his social status. In many ways, World War II doesn't seem to be "his" war so much as World War I. He's really just trying to get to the most lucrative retirement that life as a German military officer will allow. Thus, he runs the camp in much more of a casual way than a "true beliver" Nazi probably would, as evidenced by the generally respectful, casual relationship he has with Col. Hogan. Though somewhat bumbling by nature, his lax attitude toward Nazi military protocol does serve a purpose. He sometimes uses Hogan to get things accomplished that he could never be seen to do himself.
