Thomas Marvel was a homeless beggar living in the woods outside of a small town called Ipling in London.

It was here he was recruited by The Invisible Man to help him retrieve his medical journals that contained all the notes he had gathered and created on invisiblity. The journals were left at a small Inn because The Invisible man was forced to flee after attacking the owners of the Inn, Jenny Hall and George Hall.

Marvel helped The Invisible Man retrieve his work, but slipped away with the journals after The Invisible Man went to rob a local store.

After The Invisible Man was tracked down and killed by local police for killing a Colnel as well as a string of thefts and assaults, Marvel became quite rich off his encounter with the man, even opening an Inn called "The Invisible Man Inn".

Keeping the fact that he had stolen the journals to himself, Marvel began to study them to learn the secrets of invisiblity. He promised that when he knew the secrets, he wouldn't make the same mistakes the The Invisible Man had made.

Supernatural Thrillers #2 was adapted from the work of H.G. Wells.
