Courtney Ross

Search for 'Courtney Ross' on Amazon

Powers:
No superhuman powers.

Bio:
Born to a wealthy family, Courtney Ross attended Thames University in London, where she began a relationship with Brian Braddock, and maintained this romance even after discovering that he was Captain Britain. He disappeared shortly afterward, and she presumed him dead.

The two were reunited some years later, when he had become a member of Excalibur and begun a romance with the empath Meggan. Courtney was now a successful banker, known as the Ice Queen, and Brian was shocked to see that with her natural platinum hair colour she was a dead ringer for the Omniversal Majestrix Opal Luna Saturnyne. It would later be revealed that Saturnyne was in fact Courtney's analogue from another universe.

Courtney and Brian resumed their friendship, and a relationship was perhaps developing once again when she was tragically murdered by Opul Lun Sat-Yr-9, another one of her dimensional counterparts. The wicked Sat-Yr-9 vaporised her body and took her place, and continues to impersonate her when she deems it useful.

In the original Captain Britain series, Courtney was a brunette. In Excalibur, she was a platinum blonde. It was explained later that the striking white-blonde hair colour was natural, and that she dyed her hair dark in college to be taken more seriously.

A character by the name of Courtney Ross has recently reappeared in the X-Books, but this is presumably Sat-Yr-9 in disguise, rather than Courtney resurrected.
