Color Kid (DC)(Earth-0)
Real Name: Ulu Vakk
Search for 'Color Kid (DC)(Earth-0)' on Amazon

Powers:
Color Kid can change the color of anything. This ranges from large objects to sub molecular structures.

Although seemingly harmless or possessing an ineffective power he has the abilities to create blackness (impenetrable), Acute light bursts of blinding color and the ability to create illusions as strong as princess Projectra.

In addition to the above his range of powers on a sub-molecular level allows him to change the color of Kryptonite.
Thus, he's the only person in the DCU that can make Kryptonite inert.

As a corollary to his main power, he can sense the color of things he can't actually see. This could have applications not suggested by his appearances to-date.

There seems to be a limit to the size and quantity of his color-changing abilities. It has been stated in Adventure Comics that he couldn't completely end the threat of Kryptonite by changing it all from green to blue because it would completely exhaust his powers. One wonders, therefore, if he could make a yellow sun red, or a red planet blue.

Bio:
While living on his home planet, Lupra, he was assisting a scientist on an experiment. Suddenly he found himself bathed in multi-colored light from another dimension. This ray imbued him with his powers.

He decided soon thereafter to try out for the legion, but was rejected. Brainiac 5 dealt the bad news: "Your power is unusual...but not great enough for the Legion".

By this time, the Legion of Substitute Heroes had already been formed, so Brainiac 5 had an alternate home to suggest to Color Kid.

In a recent Action Comics adventure it was said that one parallel earth version of him was blinded by Terra Man.

As an adult, he would become both "Color King"--and, at last, a member of the regular Legion.

He would also have a sex change and become Color Queen courtesy of Infectious Lass.

Color Kid was suggested by reader Jeff Greenberg in the letter columns of Adventure 309, 342, and 346.
