Chemical King (DC)
Real Name: Condo Arlik
Search for 'Chemical King (DC)' on Amazon

Powers:
The ability to control chemical reactions.

Bio:
Chemical King was a fairly long-serving member of the original Legion who wasn't used very much over the years. It's speculated that writers found his character too difficult to integrate into plots.

He was introduced in an Adult Legion story as a statue, a brief mention of his noble sacrifice in stopping World War VII being readers' first impression of the character. It took more than ten years—until Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #228—for DC to finally chronicle his death completely.

The writers did so little with the character that he's not known to have had any romantic relationships with other Legionnaires. It's even difficult to ascribe a general personality to him.

Notes:
No character vaguely like this one appears in the 2004 re-imagined Legion. In fact, he was basically ignored in post-Zero Hour continuity, as well.
