Supreme Serpent (02 - Dan Dunn)

A normal human being, but carried a laser pistol.

White, right-wing talk-show host Dan Dunn banded together with black, liberal fellow host Montague Hale to resurrect the racist Sons of the Serpent organization for their own gain. The two instigated several attacks (including a fake one on Hale himself), kidnapped the Black Panther, and replaced him with an impostor to act as a provocateur. All the while, the two men debated the issue publicly on TV to stir up public unrest and fuel their own rise to power. Eventually, they came into conflict with the Panther and the rest of the Avengers, were unmasked, and defeated.

Neither man truly ascribed to the Sons' radical white-supremacist views, but sought only personal wealth and power by manipulating the group and the public.
