Titania (Marvel) (01 - Davida DeVito)

Powers:
Titania possessed superhuman strength allowing her to lift approximately 2 tons.

Bio:
Davida DeVito was a protege of Ann "Auntie Freeze" Fraley, one of the leading female wrestlers of thirty years ago. After two decades in the ring, Fraley retired from professional wrestling to become a trainer of other female wrestlers. DeVito was trained by Fraley and wrestled under the alias of "Titania." DeVito teamed up with three other wrestlers that Fraley had trained - Letha, Poundcakes and Screaming Mimi - to become the wrestling team known as the original Grapplers. Titania became the team's leader.

Sometime later, Titania was contacted by a representative of Roxxon Oil Company in charge of covert operations. He arranged for Titania and the rest of The Grapplers to perform a covert mission for Roxxon Oil. The four wrestlers were sent to accompany Thundra in invading Project: Pegasus, a federal government energy research project. Roxxon wanted a monopoly on major research into tapping new energy sources. The Grapplers started to destroy the equipment of Project: Pegasus, but their mission failed due to the intervention of The Thing and allies. Titania was defeated by Giant-Man and the Grapplers were sent to prison for their crimes.

Imprisoned at Ryker's island, The Grapplers fought Dazzler when she was imprisoned for a night and were defeated.

When The Grapplers were freed, they discovered that the woman's wrestling movement had lost it's momentum without them. They took up petty crime to support themselves and at one point tried to gain revenge on The Thing for sending them to prison. They failed, but were not arrested.

Auntie Freeze came into contact with Power Broker, Inc., an agency which promised to augment an individual's strength to very high levels for a very high price. Auntie Freeze sent over her new clients as well as the original Grapplers (minus Screaming Mimi) to undergo treatment. It was at this time that Titania gained superhuman strength.

Titania and the original Grapplers returned to being managed by Auntie Freeze and joined with her other clients to collectively become the new Grapplers. Although slight resentment was present, the original Grapplers were happy to be making money as part of the U.C.W.F. without having to resort to crime.

Titania remained leader of the new expanded Grapplers during this time. During the team's first public exhibition match, Titania lost a match to a new Grappler who went by the alias "Battleaxe". Battleaxe became the new champion of the woman's division of the U.C.W.F. and then asserted that she should become the new leader of the Grapplers as well. Enraged, Titania attacked Battleaxe in the ring even though the match was over. The two were separated and the rest of the Grapplers disapproved of Titania's poor sportsmanship.

Shortly afterward, Titania was taking a shower in the locker room when a new recruit to the Grapplers, named Golddigger, entered the locker room. Golddigger then shot Titania with an explosive bullet, killing her. Afterward, Golddigger shouted "Justice is served!", the signature line of the assassin known as Scourge. Realizing that Scourge was to blame for her friend's death, Letha sought revenge, and herself was killed by Scourge at a meeting of costume criminals in "The Bar with No Name".

Later, Captain America defeated a man who claimed to be Scourge. This Scourge almost immediately shot by someone that shouted "Justice is served!" revealing for the first time that Scourge was not simply a single individual. It's since been revealed the assassins known as Scourge are actually an organization.

Whether or not this male Scourge that was killed, is the same individual that killed Titania has never been revealed, although it is assumed that at least one Scourge must be a woman as it would've been very difficult to maintain the disguise of a female for very long in the female division of the U.C.W.F.
